Plans for 2021

Plans for January (hopefully) as we've joined a jam for the sake of doing some updates more often:

• Add the rest of the Alpha Trolls
• Add the existing sprites of the Beta Trolls
• Add the existing sprites of the Beta Kids
• Get sprites of the remaining Beta Trolls, Kids and Alpha Kids*
• Add more placeables
• Make more hives
• Make more interiors for those hives (with stairs)
• Re-add IP connections, but dw server browser isn't going away*
• Implement camera rotation**
• Plan out the subgrub and implement it
• Footstep sounds?**
• General SFX
• clowns
• Possibly add more NPCs?
• Polish every menu
• Polish ambience looks

* Not a huge ordeal if unable to deliver within the time frame.
** Unsure if will do.

These key additions will mark the release of B1, which means it will be technically finished for the long term. The only reason why the development isn't particularly fast is because there simply isn't much demand for the game, there aren't many players, but that's fine as we have all the intention to work on it. In an ideal world in the future, I'd like to make major changes to the looks and feel of it as I personally am not confident that what we have right now is the best thing ever.

I had in my mind something along the lines of Don't Starve as it has vibes of the comic in my opinion, however it is possible that it could feel a bit off in specific situations. for example a hive is a large building and having a proper collision box that doesn't feel off for it could
be tricky, but we'll look into it sometime, not really a priority.

Originally this project was going to be simply 2D much like the original Openbound, however ambition lead to this, but overall I'm happy with the progress done so far, specially since this project has helped me grow regarding game development.
