Restarting from scratch
It's been 6 months since the last build.
It's an awful long time, I know, but a lot has happened in my personal life since then. After looking over the overall state of OO I decided it was time to do something about it. And that it is to start from scratch.
After the last build was uploaded, I started thinking more about other projects I could make, one leading me to start a small indie company even, although OO is something I don't want to see left behind, most of all things.
Why are you starting from scratch?
I'm not happy about how the project started. I was learning about networking along the way and some other bits and pieces, which lead to the internal file organization to be but a huge mess and a pain to work with.
Will it still have the same planned features?
I can't say for sure if it will have everything as the current build, specially built in the same way or the planned features for the future. It will be multiplayer of course, with a chat and all. Before restarting the project I'm going to do some better planning on what the game will have and what it won't have. One thing is certain: It is meant to be a sandbox for roleplaying.
I guess that's all I have to say. I won't give a date on when the first build of the restartingwill be finished, but hopefully it will be soon.
